"BRAZIL AVENUE" REPEATS ITS SUCCESS IN ARGENTINA, NOW FOR BINGE-WATCHING

Displayed in more than 150 countries and translated into 19 languages, the repeat of the acclaimed Brazilian soap opera in marathon format was among the four most watched programs on the last Sunday.

The Argentine audience is enjoying to relive the saga of revenge, love and betrayal from ‘Brazil Avenue’, one of Globo’s greatest classics, which is currently broadcast on Telefe channel, owned by ViacomCBS. Broadcast in differentiated format – for binge-watching on Saturdays and Sundays, from 6:00 PM and three-hour duration, – the telenovela was in the fourth place among the most watched shows in that country on last Sunday (14).

Written by João Emanuel Carneiro and directed by Amora Mautner and José Luiz Villamarin, the production already won the Argentine audience’s heart in 2013. At that time, the final episode of the telenovela was broadcast at Luna Park stadium and was attended by the actors Cauã Reymond (Jorginho) and Debora Falabella (Nina). Because of such success and affection from the audience, Telefe chose the product to be part of the special programming to celebrate its 30th anniversary in Argentina.

When ‘Brazil Avenue’ was broadcast in Brazil, in 2012, it was a huge success of ratings and critic phenomenon, crossing the Brazilian borders. Recently, the telenovela was reprised in the afternoon on TV Globo, with the highest average ratings of the past three years at that time. In social media, it has reached the highest level of engagement for a reprise since 2016.

The production was licensed to more than 150 countries and translated into 19 languages. It was also acknowledged worldwide when it was nominated to the International Emmy Award for Best Telenovela in 2013.

Such huge success, which is still in the heart of viewers from different corners of the world with the story of unforgettable characters such as Carminha (Adriana Esteves), Tufão (Murilo Benício), Max (Marcelo Novaes) and Leleco (Marcos Caruso), it is currently broadcast on Imagen Televisón channel, from Mexico, at 7:30 PM, and Teleantillas channel, from Dominican Republic, at 10:00 PM.
