OLYMPUSAT ACQUIRES RUSSIAN CONTENT FROM NTV

Olympusat — an established leader in the Hispanic television and media space, owner of Spanish and English language premium television networks in the United States — has acquired six NTV’ series and ten documentaries.

The first deal included crime series "99% Alive" and "The Consultant" starring Kirill Käro, "99% Dead" action series with Alexei Chadov performing two roles at once, "Gangs of Rostov" period crime drama about newly founded Soviet criminal investigation office’s struggle with gangs flooding the city of Rostov, action-packed series "Line of Fire" about a Fire-fighting Detachment and "Demolitionist", a crime thriller about exploits of a former sapper.

The American distributor also acquired the rights to NTV documentaries, namely "Conquering the Arctic: Missions Impossible", "Longevity Pole", "Top Secret Vehicle", and others.

“NTV gathers its pace in the US and Latin American markets. The Olympusat deal significantly enhances the channel's air time and digital presence in these regions. This time around, the deal included action-packed crime TV series and documentaries,” said Timur Weinstein, NTV channel General Producer.

NTV`s projects will be available to subscribers of a new AVOD platform - Free TV that was launched in May 2020. Currently, the platform is available in Latin America, in particular in Argentina, Chile, Mexico, Peru, Colombia, among other countries of the region. Today the total subscriber’s base of the platform is more than 1.1 million people, and the service is also available through the Roku set-top boxes, which overtakes the sales of set-top boxes from Apple, Google, and Amazon. All acquired NTV projects will be dubbed into Spanish.

CONSTANT GROWTH

This is not the first NTV - US and Latin America market deal. In 2018, the "The Road to Calvary" TV series joined the ranks of the Netflix library becoming the first commercial deal of a Russian TV channel with one of the world's largest streaming services. NTV series are also available to Amazon Prime Video subscribers. The beginning of 2020 saw Encripta, one of the largest distributors in Brazil, acquiring the rights to the "The Sacrificing", "The OPERAtive", "Five Minutes of Silence", "Nevsky" and "Mukhtar" TV shows.

NTV has been actively distributing its content abroad since 2017. The channel's projects are available in dozens of countries on the largest global streaming services and TV channels, in the international distributors’ libraries, as well as on various digital platforms, including BiliBili and TenTime.
