Univision appoints Eric Garcia as President, General Manager of Miami Division

Under his new role, the executive will be responsible for the overall direction, strategy, and growth of Univision23, TelevisaUnivision’s local radio stations, and a growing portfolio of local digital offerings in the Miami market.

Univision Miami today announced the appointment of Eric Garcia to the position of President and General Manager, reporting directly to Jesus Lara, President of Local Media at TelevisaUnivision. "I’m thrilled to welcome Eric to our team in Miami. His exceptional leadership, remarkable achievements, and clear vision for the future of our local business make him the perfect choice to lead Univision Miami," said Jesus Lara, President of Local Media at TelevisaUnivision.

Under his new role, Garcia will be responsible for the overall direction, strategy, and growth of Univision23, TelevisaUnivision’s local radio stations, and a growing portfolio of local digital offerings in the Miami market. The executive will also oversee various key areas, including Sales, News, Community/Public Affairs, Operations, Creative Services, Marketing, and Production. He will also  compliance and foster audience growth strategies and community outreach initiatives across all business units. "He understands the importance of generating new ideas, embracing diversity, and maximizing our brands and resources to achieve market leadership. We are confident that under Eric's guidance, Univision Miami will continue to thrive, grow and deliver exceptional value to our audience and our partners," Lara said.

Prior to assuming this new position, Garcia served as Vice President of Multiplatform Sales in New York and as Station Manager in Washington DC and Philadelphia. He led sales for Univision's linear and digital streaming, branded social and experiential platforms in New York. His responsibilities also included developing revenue strategies for Univision's eastern audio region across all linear and non-linear verticals, including extensive live event offerings. During this time, he instilled a strong leadership culture, drove significant revenue growth and developed key client partnerships.  

With 20 years of experience in the media industry, Garcia contributes years of broadcast and media industry experience to this leadership role. His journey at Univision began in New York, where he started his career as Director of Audio Sales. Since then, he has held various leadership positions in sales, driving revenue growth and implementing innovative strategies for Univision's multi-media brands and platforms. Garcia also spent 14 years at the esteemed Spanish Broadcasting System, where he held several senior sales positions, culminating in his role as Vice President-General Manager and Radio Revenue Chief. The executive received a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing & Management from Long Island University in New York.
