UNIVISION’S “RUBÍ” PREMIERE REACHES NEARLY 3 MILLION TOTAL VIEWERS

The latest in Univision’s anthology of timeless classics re-imagined for a new generation as part of “The Collection,” debuted to knockout numbers on Tuesday night, reaching nearly 3 million Total Viewers 2+, who tuned-in to all or part of the one-hour premiere

“Rubí,” the latest in Univision’s anthology of timeless classics re-imagined for a new generation as part of “The Collection,” debuted to knockout numbers on Tuesday night, reaching nearly 3 million Total Viewers 2+, who tuned-in to all or part of the one-hour premiere. Airing from 10:00 – 11:00 p.m. ET/PT, “Rubí” averaged 1.7 million Total Viewers 2+, 749,000 Adults 18-49 and 256,000 Adults 18-34, positioning Univision ahead of ABC and NBC among Adults 18-34, as well as outperforming ABC among Adults 18-49 in the time period.

Starring Camila Sodi in the role of Rubí Perez, the series debut ranks as the highest-rated 10pm primetime novela/series premiere on the Univision Network since “La Tierra Prometida” (08/07/2017) among Adults 18-49 and Total Viewers 2+ and best since “Amar a Muerte” (10/29/2018) with Adults 18-34. The premiere episode of “Rubí” out-delivered Telemundo’s “El Señor de los Cielos VII” head-to-head in the 10:00 p.m. hour among Total Viewers 2+ (+59% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+37% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+7% adv.). In fact, “Rubí” outperformed Telemundo’s entire primetime line-up of “Exatlón Estados Unidos,” “La Doña II” and “El Señor de los Cielos VII”) among Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.

For the entire night, “Rubi” positioned Univision ahead of ABC and FOX among Adults 18-34 and delivered more Adults 18-49 than ABC. The series premiere attracted more Adult 18-49 and Adult 18-34 viewers than first-run episodes of ABC’s “Mixed-ish,” “Black-ish” and “Emergence;” FOX’s “Gordon Ramsay’s 24 Hours to Hell & Back” as well as The CW’s entire original primetime line-up consisting of “Arrow” and “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.” “Rubi” also made Univision the No. 1 Spanish-language network for the entire night (8:00pm-11:00pm) with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+56% advantage), Adults 18-49 (+40% advantage) and Adults 18-34 (+26% advantage).
