Media companies based in Russia have reported an abundance of sales at this year's digital MIPTV event. Sales were secured by the SREDA production company, TOONZ Media Networks, and Art Pictures Distribution, among others.
The SREDA production company has signed an agreement with the international ITV Studios company Armoza Formats for drama distrubtion of titles including “Married Life Scenes," while TOONZ Media Networks picked up AVOD rights for "Kikoriki" and "Pincode." The projects will be available on the MyToonz platform in India, Africa, Latin America, the USA, and Spain.
Deagostini secured exclusive premiere rights in Italy for "Tina & Tony". with projects also set to be developed for other Italian-speaking regions, such as Switzerland, Malta, Montecarlo, San Marino, and Vatican State. The French TV content distributor Ampersand Fiction has purchased the European, Asian, North American, and African rights to a fresh batch of series produced by NTV. The deal includes three series — the crime thriller "Murderous Fervor", crime series "Casting Lady Justice", and drama "The Missing". Common Sense Network’s new app Sensical set to be launched on Q2 2021 will show all adventures of internationally known round-shaped characters in the USA and Canada. Smile TV in Greece and Cyprus, licensed exclusive TV rights for "Pincode" and non-exclusive for "Panda and Krash".
Art Pictures Distribution signed sales deals for the formats of TV series “Kitchen” and “Fixer” with the Polish Tako Media company. The company Pro Plus, based in Slovenia, has acquired the rights to the “Kitchen” TV series format. Serbian PRVA Telewizija bought the projects “Kitchen. War for the hotel” and “Fixer”. Art Pictures Distribution has also signed an agreement with Mobinet (Mongolia) on the sale of the project package, which includes the series “Ivanovs VS. Ivanovs”, “Guests from the past”, “Moms”, “Around the world with kids”, “Filatov” and “Successors”. In the nearest future, the company plans to announce deals with partners from South Korea, Turkey, and Kazakhstan.
In total, more than 35 companies from Russia participated at Digital MIPTV, including Central Partnership, GMP ETV (Gazprom media - Entertainment Television), NTV, the official distributor of Russia Television and Radio’s content Sovtelexport, Art Pictures Distribution, 1-2-3 Production, TV channel Friday, Odin-Media, Signal Media, as well as animation companies Soyuzmultfilm, Riki Group, animation studio Platoshka and many others.
